'Feel the Love' 2026 - Concert by the Women's Orchestra of Arizona

Celebrate the Month of Love with the Women's Orchestra of Arizona's "Feel the Love" concert. This program will be filled with the passion of music on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at 3:00 PM.

The program explores the many facets of love—from devotion and desire to dramatic passion and enduring romance.

Classical works of love will include:

• Saint-Saëns: La Princess Jaune Overture: The concert begins with this delightful overture, capturing the charm and whimsical tension of a young man's sudden, infatuated love for a painted Japanese portrait.

• Bizet: Carmen Suite No. 2: Experience the raw, fiery side of love and passion with selections from Bizet's masterpiece, Carmen. The performance will include the March, Chanson du Toreador, and the iconic "Habanera"—a famous declaration of love as a "rebellious bird no one can tame."

• Tchaikovsky: Violin Concerto, 1st Movement: Soloist Ikuko Kanda joins the orchestra for the thrilling opening movement of Tchaikovsky’s concerto. This piece embodies the emotional depth and ardent spirit of romantic yearning and intensity.

Romantic music from the movies will include:

• Barry: Somewhere in Time: Prepare for pure, sweeping romance with the magnificent theme from the classic film, a tale of a love so powerful it defies the boundaries of time.

• Phantom of the Opera: We conclude with the timeless, haunting melodies from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical, exploring the powerful, complex, and obsessive love at the heart of the story.
