Felt Out / Hing / Qil / Kaho Matsui
Event description
Come cool off in Studio 34's Lounge with four Philly indie acts. Doors 7:00 PM, music starts shortly thereafter.
Kaho Matsui is a singer songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist and improviser based in Philadelphia, PA. Her recorded work is a diaristic archive of field recordings, malfunctioning electronics, and improvisations of modular synth and extended guitar techniques chiseled into rock, pop, ambient, noise, and folk music.See more on Kaho's Instagram.
Hing is an improvisation based experiment that blends ASMR textures, jazz and pop influences, field recordings, and humor, to play with the boundaries of rhythm and raga. Find Hing on Instagram.
Felt Out is the ongoing creative exploration of Sowmya Somanath and Walter Nichols. Using a mixture of synth, field recordings, acoustic instruments, and an obsession with music's purity, the pair deeply explores melody and harmony, unstuck from genre, while adhering to the idea of an ever-changing world, where intuition is their guide.
