Event description
Wisdom, inner power and creativity that can be accessed by understanding the phases of your cycle as a woman It is important that we change with the seasons just as nature does by adapting our daily habits, During the winter season, the energy of the Earth and its creatures is drawn inward. We can use this time for restoration and introspection, just as many plants and animals use it for hibernation. It is important to slow down and rejuvenateJust like the moon moves through its 4 different phases each month – full, waning, dark/new and waxing, so do our feminine cycles. The moon is often viewed as a symbol of the feminine and it also has an impact on not only our energy and emotions, but the earth too as well as the ocean tides.
yoga can change not only the way our bodies work, but also the way we think about and relate to our bodies. Learning how to work with our bodies is a key aspect of progressing in yoga – and as women we are presented with an opportunity to develop an increased self-awareness every month during menstruation and our full cycle.
“Women naturally seek their rebirth at every new moon by releasing their profound life-making material back to the earth.” – Maya Tiwari
We also have 4 major phases of our feminine life that we move through:
· Maiden – birth to childbirth (referred to as the Summer of a woman’s life)
· Mother – childbirth to menopause (referred to as the Spring of a woman’s life)
· Maga – menopause to retirement (referred to as the Autumn of a woman’s life)
· Crone – retirement to death (referred to as the Winter of a woman’s life)
Each of these phases have important rites of passage and can gift us with opportunities to deepen and grow our wisdom and power as women. As you move through your cycle, take time to tune into the fluctuations of your energy and mood at different stages
In the course we will work towards achieving physical wellbeing, emotional stability, and mental alertness. Learn how to practice yoga during your monthly cycle in a way that can generate great balance, strength, energy and confidence. The tools we’ll gain provides an ideal space in which to learn how best to practice yoga during menstruation and work towards achieving physical wellbeing, emotional stability, and mental alertness.
A menstruation sequence not only respects the function of the body, it can also alleviate immediate symptoms such as cramps and bloating. This practice of yoga can also lessen the emotional disturbances, stress and anxiety can also be addressed through yoga, via a specific sequence of poses that rest the body, while still creating space and nourishing the brain and the internal organs.
It can be such a rewarding and strengthening experience to become more aware of the needs of your body – and be able to meet them in a way in which fosters health, well being and calm.
