Event description

Join a growing number of landholders working to improve the health of their land by keeping stock out of waterways and restoring natural habitats.

Fencing and revegetating your waterway can sometimes feel like an overwhelming task. To assist, the LCC are hosting a practical workshop and sundowner, where you can ask the experts, connect with other local property owners, and together improve the quality of our river systems and estuary.

Tony Battersby, Healthy Estuaries project officer, will take us through the basics of fencing, with a hands-on demonstration to upskill property holders in the art of fencing, and help you find the easiest solutions to prevent stock from entering your waterways.

Following the demonstration, hear from Chris Howe, LCC program manager, on how revegetating your property will improve water quality, stabilise banks, and create shade, shelter, habitat and food source with essential flow-on benefits for crop pollination, pest control and biodiversity.

Receive practical advice on:

- DIY fencing

- Site preparation and weed management

- Planting

- Seed Collection

- Species selection

Build your confidence and gain the knowledge and skills you need to take on your next fencing and revegetation project. Join us for free drinks and food after the workshop, where you can chat with the experts and other property managers in your area.

This event is part of Healthy Estuaries WA, a State Government initiative to improve the health of our South West estuaries.
