Event description

Festival for the Future – leadership and innovation for impact.

In 2023, Festival for the Future is the first official event at Tākina – Wellington's brand new convention centre, happening 8–9th June. In te reo Māori, Tākina means to invoke, to summon, to connect, to bring forth – a beautiful alignment with the Festival kaupapa!

As Aotearoa's biggest leadership and innovation summit, Festival is one of the most inspirational events you'll ever attend. Connect and network with entrepreneurs and leaders. Engage in the big issues of our time. Strengthen your sense of motivation and purpose. Join 1,400+ delegates from across Aotearoa for an incredible line up of inspirational speakers, future-focused panels and workshops to build ideas and skills for a more inclusive and sustainable Aotearoa.

Who else will be there?

The event attracts a diverse audience from the business, government and community sectors – from business leaders and entrepreneurs, to Government officials and policy makers, to young leaders and Youth Councils from across the nation. People come from every region of Aotearoa, and beyond. As a publicly ticketed event, anyone can attend. If you're interested in making a difference for our future, you should be there!

The Mayor of Wellington, Tory Whanau, is hosting Mayors and Youth Councils for an official satellite event on Wednesday the 7th. There's an event being planned for Parliament on the Wednesday night. Then, the official opening of the Festival at Tākina and full 2-day programme is happening on the Thursday 8th and Friday 9th June.
