Festival Fundraiser Strathbogie

This spontaneous music festival and fundraising benefit brings together some awesome musicians from Melbourne, the Strathbogie Tableland and beyond. The Musicians and locals are supporting fellow musician John Bennett and his family who lost their home and cellar door in the Longwood bushfire. Incredibly the treasured grape vines survived! As well as raising funds we also celebrate the launch of the Antcliff's Chase new vintage Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with tastings and wine sales. There is an incredible range of music styles on the bill, hearty food and drinks sold separately (No BYO)

The John Bennett Quintet will take you on a journey exploring contemporary and South African Jazz with a good dollop of funk. Featuring locals John Bennett (Alto sax) and Nick Lester (Tenor sax) with friends and Afrospace Interchange founders, Brian Abrahams (drums), Zvi Belling (bass) and Pat Jaffe (piano).

Soul songstress Jojo Smith will team up with John and Nick (piano, sax) and special guests Ollie Shute (drums) and Zvi Belling (Bass). Following on from their recent sold out and highly acclaimed "Conversations in Soul" gigs at the Northy in Euroa you wont want to miss this.

Lamine Sonko (The Afrobiotics) will enchant us once more with his Kora and voice accompanied by guest artists. Lamine is an award winning musician, writer, theatre producer who has wowed the Strathbogie crowd several times with his bands The Afrobiotics, The African Intelligence and his mesmerising performance at the screening of his (and Partner Olive's) short film Deup, a pre cursor to his recent Theatre Production Guewel.

Violet Towns Celtic/folk legends Roolya Boolya's Damien Neil and Sile Coleman will lift our spirits and call us to the dance floor with their Irish tradition and joyful, beautiful music.

Hoodoo Mayhem (our very own Puff ball house band) will get us dancing (possibly down the main street) to their bold and brassy New Orleans tunes, if you missed the festival of fungi party you can get a taste for next year. Hoodoo brought utter mayhem to the St Kilda Blues fest last month It's a horn blowin' beat party as good as they come!

Guitarist/ singer/songwriter/ Mpaphi Nfandizo and friends will bring the heart and soul of Botswana with a blend of South African Blues that will have us jiving.

Talented duo In Lamp Light features locals Alina Lester (lead vocals) and Tyler Kipping (guitar/vocals). Their folk/soul influences blend to create their own unique sound and a lovely atmosphere.

There will a few surprise guests too!

There will food (sold separately) and drinks at bar prices (no BYO) with all profits going to the cause.
