Festival of Women and Girls in Science 2024
Event description
To celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, the aim of the festival is to showcase science and technology research that is being carried out by women in science.
Through interactive activities, we want to share the excitement of taking part in scientific research and demonstrate the important contribution that women make to science.
With a particular focus on activities for girls aged 10-18 and their families, our objective is to facilitate the involvement of women and girls in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). We aim to establish meaningful connections between science and their daily experiences, fostering curiosity and, ideally, sparking inspiration for future careers!
This is a collaborative initiative run by University of Canterbury Learning for Earth/Ako Futurea (LEAF), Tūranga and Canterbury Museum.
UC photographers and videographers will be out and about on the day. These images may be used by the University of Canterbury in the future for online or print publications and may be placed on official UC social media channels. By registering for this event, I agree to these conditions.
