Festive Bushcraft: candle making + felt work, whittling + weaving

Create a meaningful gift for the festive season in nearby nature.

🕯️Candle + 🕊️ Felt Dove Workshop

A morning of bushcraft and games, wrapped around a central experience of crafting a beautiful beeswax candle to take home for Christmas. We'll even be making our own wick! Beeswax candles have been part of an age old Christmas ritual, offering a clean burning golden light, a beautiful subtle scent and air purifying qualities.

We will also use felt and wool stuffing to hand sew a dove decoration to bring peace to a window or tree.

🪵 Whittling + 🌾 Weaving Workshop

Time spent under the trees creating a festive wooden gnome to take home and treasure. Using simple hand tools and guided whittling techniques, children will shape their own cheeky little guardian of the bush—each one as unique as the child who carves it.

We will also used found nature treasures, willow and paper to weave a wreath to bring colour to a door or wall.

Through either session your wild one will have access to a range of other offerings including:

• treasure hunt for botanical materials in nearby nature

• crafting their own bush-brush to keep

• designing gift wrap paper

• painting wooden decorations

• air dry clay candle holder

• cooperative risky play games

Our mentors are experienced outdoor educators and artists who supports bushcraft skills, collaborative play and inquiry into the natural world.

INVESTMENT
$55 per session with all materials included (10% discount will be automatically applied for 2 or more tickets).

Our group sizes are intentionally small to facilitate high quality social interactions and to enable risky, adventurous play. Sessions will be confirmed when we reach minimum enrolment numbers.
