This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Come and visit the State Coal Mine, Wonthaggi for an update on its 91kWh Solar PV array and 41 kWh Battery Storage System, an overview of mining-related items on show at the facility and a relaxed lunch at the café.

The Cape is designing and building a 230 home community of energy efficient, all electric, solar powered gas-free homes, averaging 8 Star efficiency, with some residents achieving zero energy bills. Passive design helps the homes maintain year round stable temperatures with minimal heating and cooling. Some residents have long range electric cars. Homes feature a minimum of 10,000 litre rainwater tanks for toilet flushing and watering gardens. The Cape is also building a very large, water efficient community urban farm.

Seats are limited, so please register the number of people in your group, and inform us of cancellations.
