Description

FIELDS:

FIELDS are an Eora (Sydney) based collective led by guitarist/producer Yianni Adams and percussionist Kalon Captain. Known for their freeform improvisations, FIELDS explore themes of minimalism, repetition and responsive interplay, bridging the gap between ambient grooves and afro-jazz. The group formed in 2023 when Yianni and Kalon, alongside Harry Tomspett (tenor saxophone) and Kurt Lam (keyboards) recorded several freeform improvisations, many of which became the foundation of their debut self-titled album released in April 2025 via the independent Sydney label CG Discs. Through the joy of pure spontaneity FIELDS embrace an open, boundary-less approach to music, guided by the simple rule to listen and be present. For this special performance at Bursill Lane Studio, Yianni and Kalon will be joined by Jarrah Dhyan (guitar), Tom Levings (keyoboard) and Youssef Sawires (darbuka, conga).

Skyline Sun & Mio Ma (Berlin):

Sydney guitarist/producer Skyline Sun and Barcelona-born vocalist Mío Ma are a Berlin-based duo blending jazz, R&B, soul, disco, funk and experimental sounds into something distinctly their own. From opposite ends of the world, they met in Berlin—a city that gave their shared love of groove and improvisation room to evolve. Skyline Sun is the project of multi-instrumentalist and producer Jarrah Dhyan, known for his sharp, groove-driven take on nu-jazz. His work has been championed by JazzFM UK, Worldwide FM, and FIP Radio. Their live shows are full of character and spontaneity. Part song, part story, part jam session, they’ve been building a reputation for performances that are both surprising and deeply felt.
