Description

Festa with Capital Samba and DJ Dede Da Cruz

Formed in the vibrant heart of Canberra in the summer of 2023, Capital Samba is a dynamic ensemble that brings the pulsating rhythms and smooth melodies of Brazil to Australia's capital. Comprising a talented lineup of musicians with deep roots in Brazilian music and culture, Capital Samba is a celebration of Samba and Bossa Nova, interwoven with the rhythms of Afro-Brazilian heritage. The band draws inspiration from icons such as Paulinho da Viola, Zeca Pagodinho, Tom Jobim, and João Gilberto, translating these influences into vibrant, contemporary performances, featuring band leader Fabricio Tocco’s own songs, that resonate with both traditionalists and new listeners alike. Capital Samba is more than just a band; it's a gathering of friends who met through various Brazilian community events in Canberra, including dance festivals, batucada groups, and jam sessions, an immersive experience not to be missed.
