FIFO

Don your high-vis, grab a mid-strength, and buckle up because the seatbelt sign is on

Inspired by true events, FIFO is a gripping, darkly comedic new Australian work inspired by real workers and their stories.

Created by some of Australia’s most exciting up and coming theatre makers, FIFO explores the lives of fly-in fly-out workers, highlighting Australia’s long and complicated relationship with the resource sector. As a new female worker begins her first swing, the site becomes the epicentre of serious allegations, and the very fabric of Australian society is pushed to breaking point. What unfolds is a piercing examination of power, silence, and a system that underpins the nation.

A uniquely Australian story, FIFO showcases some of Western Australia’s finest theatre talent. Blending sharp comedy, explosive physical theatre, and deeply personal storytelling, FIFO is bold, confronting, and unexpectedly funny—resonating with anyone who has lived, worked, or loved in and around the FIFO world.

“The show delivers genuine laugh-out-loud moments of industry critical satire, as well as excellently delivered one-liners and entertaining moments of character interaction. Fans of intelligent and witty theatre with something bold to say will certainly enjoy FIFO.” - X-press Magazine

“Honestly, I was genuinely surprised with how relatable it was. The entire team have done an amazing job of identifying and representing the broad, and surprisingly accurate spectrum of emotions associated with the industry.” – Audience Member

“That hit home. Pretty hard, actually.” - Audience Member and FIFO worker
