Fighting Giants - Nedlands

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

The Kimberley is full to the brim with some of the world’s most extensive intact natural landscapes, coupled with the rich culture of its Aboriginal custodians.

But with frackers the closest they have ever been to turning the region upside down into an industrial wasteland, we teamed up with Kimberley Traditional Owners, Environs Kimberley, climate scientists and economists from The Australia Institute to produce a new 30 minute film.

‘Fighting Giants’ is a rallying call to defend so many things that West Australians value: the stunning, intact landscapes of the Kimberley, our fragile climate, and Aboriginal culture and land.

We can’t wait to share what we have spent the last few months working on and would love to have you and your friends along for the screening of this ode to the Kimberley and urgent call to action.

Lock the Gate Alliance’s WA campaign coordinator Claire McKinnon will give a campaign update and share helpful tips on how people can take action and get involved in Perth to help Kimberley communities stop fracking.

Our new Perth Community Campaigner Kirsty Symmons will also be at the screening to chat about upcoming Perth actions and events, and we’ll have a stall with campaign merch including the beautiful new Frack Free Kimberley tshirts and stickers.

This event will suit new people to the campaign, as well as those who are keen to get an update and find out what they can do, so bring a friend or get a group of people together!
