Warm your heart this winter with a hands-on Fijian cooking class and lunch featuring celebrity chef Arrnott Olssen at Magenta House. Known for his vibrant cooking segments on Australian TV (My Kitchen Rules and Morning Show on Channel 7), Arrnott is a cultural advocate and recipe developer who is dedicated to elevating Pasifika cuisine through bold fusions of Fijian classics and seasonal Australian produce. 

Join us on Sunday 20 July, 11am-2pm for a collective cooking class with Arrnott and gather around the table as we share meals and knowledges on kinship, family legacy, and cultural revitalisation. In this energetic class, you’ll learn how to make aromatic Fijian curry and fresh roti, discover the stories that have inspired Arrnott to develop his mainstay recipes, and connect with fellow students.

What awaits you in this workshop:

Arrival treats: Lemongrass tea / Lolo Buns (Fijian Coconut Buns)

Mains: Fijian Chicken Curry / Fiji-Indian rotis / Rice

Side: Fresh tomato and cucumber chutney

About Arrnott Olssen

Arrnott Olssen is a celebrated TV chef, creative powerhouse, and cultural advocate known for his bold fusion of food, fashion, and music. As the founder and host of The Kana Club pop-up restaurant, Arrnott shares his unique take on Fijian flavours, collaborating with some of Australia’s leading hospitality brands to create unforgettable dining experiences. A passionate champion of local produce and Pacific cuisine, he’s a regular face on Australian television, hosting cooking segments and appearing in media as a vocal advocate for Fijian food and its place in the modern culinary landscape.

Before rising to prominence in the food world, Arrnott made his mark in fashion and music. He launched one of Australia’s first men’s fashion and lifestyle blogs and went on to style covers for Men’s Health Australia as a published fashion stylist. As a house music vocalist, he has performed alongside icons like Boy George, Sandy Rivera, Roger Sanchez, and Basement Jaxx, following his debut on Australia’s first reality music show Popstars.  Offstage, he’s the founder of Men Let’s Talk, a platform dedicated to men’s mental health and open conversation. Through every facet of his career, Arrnott continues to push boundaries, connect communities, and celebrate culture with heart and style.

About Magenta House

Magenta House is a gathering and knowledge-sharing space in Redfern, Sydney, Australia. Based inside a re-imagined micro-terrace, our homespace program comes alive through workshops, communal meals, talks, test kitchens, and library sessions. We also run an online shop supporting independent artisans and social ventures across Asia and Australia. Established in April 2023 by Mariam Ella Arcilla, Magenta House is a synergetic site for ideas and conversations to ferment through encounters and collaborations.
