Event description

Join UnionAID for a wonderful, heartwarming, and uplifting film, closely based on a true story of two sisters of Algerian descent – renowned conductor Zahia Ziouni and her sister Cellist Fettouma Ziouani.

“Zahia and Fettouma's journey transcends their underprivileged beginnings, as they courageously confront chauvinism and other prejudices challenging their passion for classical music. Rather than merely seeking acceptance by the exclusive Parisian classical music scene, the sisters aspire to bring the joys of symphonic music to their community. Firmly believing that music should be inclusive and a source of joy and comfort accessible to people from all backgrounds, the Ziouani sisters create an enduring legacy, still resonant today” (Alliance Française French Film Festival).

All profits go directly to a UnionAID project to support nurses who since 2021 have refused to work under the military junta and now provide healthcare in the conflict zone with internally displaced people in jungle camps and resistance fighters.
