Film screening: The Gleaners and I, dir. Agnès Varda
Description
Join Enjoy for a special screening of Les glaneurs et la glaneuse (The Gleaners and I) by French filmmaker Agnès Varda. In the film, Varda explores the subject of gleaning—historically, the gathering of farm produce left after formal harvest. Travelling through rural and urban landscapes, she turns her camera toward those who gather what has been left behind—food, objects, images—outside systems of productivity and profit. Moving between documentary and self-portrait, the film treats gleaning as both a social practice and a way of remembering differently.
This screening is programmed in concert with the exhibition These are Addressed to You, curated by Jess Clifford.
The screening will be held at Massey Cinema, Old Dominion Museum Building (East entrance): 15 Buckle Street, Mount Cook, Wellington
(Block 10 Tokomaru, Pukeahu Mount Cook, Wellington)
