Filmbites Holiday Workshops are back! 

Our July School Holiday workshops include Julia Moody's 'General American Accent Workshop' and Trent Bakers 'Shakespeare for the Screen Workshop' for teens as well as Game Design, Animation, Green Screen and Screen Acting workshops for ages 8 - 12. 

First 15 tickets purchased receive free family passes to 'Cats in the Museum' Thanks to Rialto Distribution. 

All workshops are held at our Malaga studio, 6/31 Oxleigh Drive, Malaga.

Green Screen Workshop - Monday 3rd of July - 10am - 3pm (Ages 10 - 16) 

Be a part of both the crew and cast by devising and filming short scenes in Filmbites’ very own green screen studio. Then, head into the computer lab to learn, hands-on, how to add your very own special effects from industry professionals.

Game Design Workshop - Tuesday 4th of July - 10am - 3pm (Ages 8 - 12) 

Why just play games when you can learn how to make them. In this workshop you’ll learn how to make 3 different types of games, using Gamemaker software, then get to play each others games. Super fun day for gamers!

Shakespeare for the Screen Workshop - Wednesday 5th of July - 10am - 3pm (Ages 13 - 17)

Taught by Trent Baker, a WAAPA lecturer and previous NIDA lecturer, students will learn the secrets of Shakespeare’s text using Shakespeares language, imagery and physicality.  This dynamic workshop will take the students through a series of practical approaches and techniques to unlocking the secrets of Shakespeare’s work.

Julia Moody General American Accent Workshop - Thursday 6th of July - 10am - 1pm (Ages 13 - 17)

Julia Moody, who was Head of Voice in the Acting Department of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts for 21 years will be delivering an introductory workshop on American accents. The workshop will focus on how to learn accents, how to shift your voice to an American accent as well as the general components of a US accent.

2D Animation Workshop - Friday 7th of July - 10am - 3pm (Ages 8 - 12)

Learn the interface and navigation for Tahoma, a free software you can learn to use to create super fun animations. This is an exceptional skill to learn if you ever wish to work in the growing entertainment, content creation and resources industries.

Junior Screen Acting Workshop - Thursday 13th of July - 10am - 3pm (Ages 8 -12)

Learn the difference between stage and screen acting, as well as the fundamentals of what it’s like acting to camera. This workshop is a fun introduction to the craft of screen acting.
