Filmmaking Workshop - Create a Short Space Film

Learn to make a space film

Want to up-skill your acting, presentation, camera, lighting, sound or editing skills? Then register for our hands on practical filmmaking workshop held once a month. No theories, no mocking about just making two short films in one day. Are you up for the challenge?

This workshop is intended as a safe environment where you practice your current skills or learn new ones. There's no theory, we'll hit the ground running, you'll get more out of the workshop if you know the basics of video/film production but not necessary. If you have no knowledge of video production start with our introductory filmmaking training videos available to SFC members (coming soon).

At each workshop we'll form a group, just like a real film production would do, where students take on one or more roles to create one short space sci-fi film and one short space documentary. You can be rotated between the roles, so you can get overall experience; or you can focus on one set of skills to practice; it's upto you what yu want to learn. However one important aspect of the workshop is to get you to work as a team, this is essential in any film production.

The day will be divided into a morning and afternoon session where we plan, produce and edit two short space films. One space sci-fi and the other space documentary.

All equipment, props and green screen will be provided. Scripts will be provided from public domain or SFC Films originals. To make things manageable film run time will be limited to 1 minute, and all the props and sets will be kept to a minimum.

Tea/Coffee and muesli bars will be provided, however you need to arrange your own lunch or dinner.

Masoud, your tutor, will be there to guide you every step of the way.

No two workshops are the same, you can register for more than one and keep practicing honing your skills.

Note 3: Minimum 9 people are needed to hold the workshop. If we don't reach that number ona certain workshop date then the workshop will be postponed to the next date. If you're booking as a group 9 people or above will guarantee the workshop will be held on the desired date.

To get you ready to take part in real film production, or to give you the confidence to start producing your own films.

2. Technical side of film production.
3. Creative side of film production.
4. Gain confidence in-front or behind the camera.

What you will leave with?

By the end of the workshop you will be given two short film files with full credits of your roles.
