This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

First in a series of Sunday arvo get togethers to watch documentaries and talk frocks, fabrics and fashion for people who love to sew and other fabric appreciators.

On Sunday 1st May we'll be screening Iris (2014) directed by Albert Maysles (1 hr 19m)

Iris Apfel Songlines Arts

About the film:

IRIS pairs legendary documentarian Albert Maysles with Iris Apfel, the quick-witted, flamboyantly dressed (then) 93-year-old New York style icon and muse. More than just a fashion film, it is a story about creativity, design and how her soaring free spirit continues to inspire.

About Films for Frockistas

Once a week during May/June we're having a Sunday arvo session at Songlines for frockistas and frockaholics. Join like-minded peeps to watch a film, share nibbles and sewing tips. You can bring what you're working on for show and tell.

We have set aside 2.5 hrs in the Songlines Experience Space for it. The space is air-conditioned, has a large screen and excellent sound system.

The screening will start at 3.30 pm.

On the program over coming weeks are iconic documentaries including Westwood: Punk, Icon, Activist; The First Monday in May, The Gospel According to Andre and more.

What to bring

We have bench seats, please bring your own chair and/or cushion if you'd like a bit more comfort. You are welcome to bring your own drinks/nibbles too. We'll be providing some too.

Who is putting this together

This is a Songlines project in collaboration with Flying Fox Fabrics & Darwin Frocktails
