Have you ever experienced a film screening in the middle of the forest?
"Films in the forest" is an inspiring fundraising film event held at the Starlight Hall.
Immersed in a sacred rainforest, 5 mins from Yandina, Kabi Kabi a.k.a Sunshine Coast in Queensland.
Theme for this particular event is Forests Conservation and Regeneration.
The heart of the event lies in showcasing a of 4 environmental short films, including documentaries and animations. The films will inspire attendees to connect with nature and recognize the urgency of preserving our precious native forests.
Fundraising
Our screening event is a dedicated effort to secure crucial funds for the completion of our
documentary, "EnvironmentArt Stories," a project where artists do films for nature. Simultaneously, we give back to Earth by
using a portion of proceeds to get hands dirty in an environmental action, such as planting native trees.
Our Hosts
Mauri Badra, a South American filmmaker and EnvironmentArt Stories producer, permaculture practitioner and dive instructor passionate about nature.
Impact partner Shay Ryan Douglas, is the passionate creator of the Independent Conscious Media platform, Earth Heroes TV. His recent work includes the feature-length inspiring Documentary The Regeneration and The Ripe Time.
The event offers two different ticket pricing options:
a. Donation based entry (suggested contribution $25)
Attendees can purchase this ticket if they wish to enjoy the event without meals.
b. Meal-Inclusive Ticket ($45) For attendees seeking a complete experience, this ticket includes access
to the film screening and gf vegan meal and tea.
Family welcome. Kids under 12 for free. No pets.
Raffle: There will be a community raffle. Please feel free to bring anything you wish to donate to the raffle, whether it be excess produce, homemade goodies or homemade crafts!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Please be aware this is a sustainable film event in an off-grid community.
BYO mat, camping chair, cushion and/or blankets. BYO drinking water and mosquito protection.
This is also a LEAVE NO TRACE. No loitering. No camping.
Please be respectful with minimal disturbance to our local community and wildlife.

DIRECTIONS
From Yandina IGA traffic lights follow Old Gympie Road North West towards Cooloolabin Road for 1km. At the T junction turn left onto Cooloolabin Road. Continue for 500m. Then turn right onto Browns Ck Road, Continue for 5km, after you see the Starlight sign on your left, in a few hundred meters more the Hall will be located on your right.

"EnvironmentArt Stories" documentary is driven by the core intention of using art and film
to advocate for environmental stewardship and protect our mother nature.
We believe in the power of storytelling to foster empathy and inspire positive change,
making this screening night a potent catalyst for environmental action.
The event welcomes the local community, friends, environmentalists, filmmakers, artists, students,
First Nations and Torres Strait Islanders representatives and
individuals of all ages.
