Find Your Authentic Voice: A Masterclass with Voice Coach Henry A McDaniel
Description
Every person has a voice, but not everyone feels that the voice they use in the world truly represents who they are.
We learn voices from our families, schools, cultures, workplaces, communities, and social expectations. We learn how we are “supposed” to sound if we want to be perceived as artistic, intelligent, professional, confident, successful, masculine, feminine, educated, authoritative, approachable—or acceptable.
This workshop invites participants to question those assumptions.
Rather than teaching people to adopt a particular “ideal” voice, the workshop introduces a process of discovering greater vocal freedom, authenticity, and choice.
The central question is: What would it sound like if your voice could fully express who you are?
Join actor, educator, and voice coach Henry A McDaniel for this unique and important session and unlock your authentic voice.
Henry A McDaniel is a voice, speech, and acting teacher, director, and consultant whose work explores the connection between voice, identity, and human connection. He holds an MA in Voice Studies from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London, and an MFA in Theatre/Acting from Indiana University.
His approach is grounded in the belief that the voice is not simply a tool for communication—it is an expression of identity. Through his coaching, Henry helps people develop voices that are relaxed, powerful, expressive, and connected to who they are. His work is particularly interested in supporting people whose voices or identities have traditionally been marginalized, helping them discover and strengthen a voice that feels genuinely their own.
Henry also works with actors on accents, dialects, and vocal characterization, helping performers develop the specificity and flexibility required to inhabit different characters while maintaining clarity, freedom, and connection.
At the heart of Henry's work are three principles: Authenticity, Connection, and Breath.
