Find Your Sound! Open Week at the Central Coast Conservatorium

Percussion Lab Experience - Drum Kit & hand percussion (13-18 years) Intermediate +

Step into the world of rhythm in our Percussion Lab ensemble experience - a dynamic experience for high school-aged students.

This exciting session will give students the chance to explore a range of percussion instruments and ensemble playing.

Students will be grouped by age and experience level to ensure the best learning environment:

✔ Intermediate+ -  for students with a solid rhythmic understanding of tuned or untuned percussion

🥁12:30 am - 1:15pm intermediate +

Room 1: Drum Kit & Hand Percussion (including djembe, conga’s, bongo’s, claves, maracas, tambourine and more)

Students will have a short break then move to the next session:

For students with a solid rhythmic foundation or untuned percussion, ready to extend their skills in an ensemble setting

Throughout the session, students will:
✨ Refine ensemble awareness and listening skills
✨ Strengthen rhythmic accuracy and coordination
✨ Explore more complex patterns and musical textures
✨ Develop confidence performing within a group setting
✨ Experience the energy and discipline of a real ensemble environment

This workshop is designed for students ready to build on their existing skills, challenge themselves musically, and connect with other percussionists in a dynamic, hands-on setting.

The goal is to make music together at a higher level, deepen coordination, and enjoy the process of playing in an ensemble.

Drums are an extension of your body, when your rhythm is internalised, your playing becomes effortless and expressive.
