Make It Yourself is Pianodrome's brand new festival — a five day celebration of DIY culture, creativity and local community, running during October half term from 14th–18th October 2026 at Pianodrome Bruntsfield Community Hub.
Supported by the Edinburgh Council Local Events Fund, this hyper-local festival brings together makers, musicians, artists and community organisations for five days of workshops, live music, art exhibitions and open mic performances, all rooted in our core ethos of upcycling, innovation and working together.
Fionnbarr Byrne and Emma Capponi return to the Pianodrome for the first time since the July 2023 launch of the Meursault album in our favourite iteration of Debenhams department store.
Fionnbarr Byrne writes intricate melodies blending the strange and familiar. Informed by confessional poetry, narrative songs, and wry wit, his compositions fuse elements of ambience and electronics with torch song and contemporary folk.
Potsdam was released in July 2024, recorded with Emma Capponi and Jakob Mäsel at the Filmuniversitätbabelsberg.
Emma Capponi is a song writer and textile artist who explores old folk songs and weaves them into contemporary narratives.
Buried was released in December 2025, recorded with Neil Pennycook at an intimate live concert in a friend’s livingroom.
The Sandporters are an indie folk trio who made their debut at the 2025 Fringe Festival. Consisting of three songwriters swapping an eclectic range of songs and instruments between them (harp, bass, violin, guitar and more!) they create a distinctive sound that creatively blends styles, stories and genres. This gig will feature two members of the group: Ruth Hamblin (harp, piano) and Ezra Briggs (guitar, fiddle).
About our Ticketed Concerts
Pianodrome Bruntsfield is at The St.Oswald's Center at 41 Montpelier Park, Bruntsfield, Edinburgh EH10 4NB, just parallel to the main street and next to the primary school. It has an accessible entrance and an accessible toilet. Please get in touch if there is anything else you'd like to ask or tell us prior to your visit.
The Pianodrome is based in a 130 year old ex church building, and currently the space is unheated, so please remember to wrap up warm.
Concessions
We do not check your right to a concession or name your price ticket. If you feel you can afford the full price please select this ticket. However, concessions prices are there to help anybody attend the show - if you need a lower cost ticket you are in the best position to determine that. No questions asked.
Accessibility:
There is ramped access to the main hall of the Pianodrome. We have an accessible toilet and space for wheelchairs. Most of our performances are relaxed performances. If you have any access requirements please feel free to email us at boxoffice@pianodrome.org.

You do not need a ticket for babies, but if your child is likely to take space in a seat then please book them a ticket.
