Event description

Catch, cook and connect on Menang Country.

Walk alongside Menang/Goreng man Lindsay Dean and his sons for a day immersed in indigenous culture. Beginning with a Welcome Water Ceremony, you’ll then learn traditional and contemporary fishing methods before cooking your catch over the coals. Share in fireside yarns, storytelling of Menang history, dance as you taste kangaroo and damper, and learn of ancient toolmaking techniques. The afternoon concludes with a traditional Smoking Ceremony to reflect on your time spent connecting with Country.
