Firmus AI Factory Wesley Vale Information Session

Firmus is an Australian company founded in 2019 that created Artificial Intelligence (AI) Factory technology in Launceston. We design, build and operate energy-efficient AI Factories — using a fraction of the water and significantly less energy than traditional data centres. We’re proud to be growing across the region, creating long-term local jobs and backing investment in renewable energy.

We would like to welcome the Tasmanian community to an in-person drop-in style session that invites community members to come along and speak with members of the Firmus project team and ask questions about the Firmus AI Factory project at Wesley Vale.

Session structure

To ensure health and safety and to provide the best possible experience for everyone, we’re running three x 45-minute information sessions. If you are able, we would appreciate if you can book in to your preferred time, noting you can visit us anytime within your 45-minute timeframe. You are also welcome to get someone else to register on your behalf.

·       Session one: 4:00pm-4:45pm

·       Session two: 5:00pm-5:45pm

·       Session three: 6:00pm-6:45pm

During all sessions, you will have the opportunity to speak to members of the Firmus team and ask any questions you have about the project.

Firmus AI Factory Wesley Vale overview

The AI Factory project, located at 226 Mill Road, Wesley Vale — on part of the former Wesley Vale Pulp Mill landholding, which operated from 1969 until 2010 — will include construction of a principal data hall building with technical and administration areas, along with supporting infrastructure such as cooling systems, water storage tanks, car parking, and internal access roads.

Designed to support Australia's growing demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure, this project will create skilled local jobs and encourage investment in Wesley Vale, while making use of existing industrial land and infrastructure.
