This event is available to all existing registered participants of the Home Care Workforce Support Program (HCWSP). Unfortunately, we are unable to accept enrolments from those not registered in the Program.
Welcome to a 2-days event of FREE First Aid Training and Manual Handling Practices, a join collaboration with Octec Training Services that was created specially for you.
Event's location : The Philips Centre, Orange 2800.
Date & Time : 7-8 May, 09.00 - 17.00
Why do you need the course: First Aid Training will equip you with the essential skills and knowledge required in aged care and in your everyday life by providing first aid and the management of casualties until the arrival of qualified medical assistance. The added bonus is OCTEC will also provide a range of practical manual handling training during the program that gives students or personal care workers firsthand experience using industry equipment. The equipment used within the program are standard items that are found in both the aged and disability care sector.
Entry Requirements: No prior medical knowledge is required for this course. However, students must be reasonably physically fit and capable of kneeling on the floor to participate in practical simulations within the classroom.
What will you obtain: Upon completion, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for Accredited First Aid Training valid for three years and a Certificate of Completion for Manual Handling. Plus, you’ll leave the training with the essential skills and knowledge needed to administer First Aid effectively and work safely in aged care. We are also excited to present you with Care Career Passport after the training if you haven't already received it.
Lunch and light snacks will be provided.
