Join sculptor Anderson Hunt as he offers insight into his practice as a successful sculptor who has seen many projects through from beginning to completion. Hear how he creates sculptures for specific sites and different organisations and how his private art practice relates to his major public works.

About the Artist

Anderson Hunt is a sculptor who has created many large-scale public artworks, including some of Melbourne’s more contemporary sculptures. His preferred materials include stainless steel, granite and bronze. His works explore themes of environment, landscape, memory and culture.

Anderson has created works for City Councils, Architects, Schools, Developers and private collectors. Since 1995 Anderson has been a principal artist and director at Down Street Project in Collingwood. He has exhibited work in numerous group and solo exhibitions.

In recent years, Anderson has collaborated with First Nation artists and Elders to develop several engaging public artworks that explore important creation stories, past histories, and environmental themes. This includes the Bullawah Trail sculpture commission, Millinmurr and Yarraboyn for the Rural City of Wangaratta.
