First on Scene - Remote Incident Training (Moura - Community Session)
Event description
Anglo American, in partnership with the Queensland Trucking Association, is facilitating First on Scene Remote Incident Training around Central Queensland for motorists, to increase their level of knowledge on how to manage a road crash in remote and regional areas when arriving first on scene. The training will be delivered free courtesy of support by Anglo American and the Motor Accident Insurance Commission.
Who is the training for?
Motorists who:
- travel on rural and remote roads in Queensland.
- want to increase skills, knowledge and capability to safely manage a vehicle accident
What is included?
- Immediate Safety and Scene Considerations and awareness (including Powerline Safety, Dangerous Goods awareness)
- Accident Location and Communication tools and strategies
- Specialist road crash accident and management awareness including:
- Emergency First Aid Response instruction
- Stop the Bleed instruction
Time Commitment
The First on Scene Remote Incident Training will be a half day session (approx. 3.5-4hrs). Catering provided.
Delivery - Dates - Locations
Training delivery will be held face-to-face in locations in Moranbah, Middlemount, Moura and Theodore.
Why this training?
Road crashes on regional and remote roads account for 65% of the total road toll in Australia.
31% of all hospitalised injuries in Australia were from injuries sustained in crashes in regional and remote areas.
Purpose
For motorists to increase their skills, knowledge and capability on how to manage a road crash in regional and remote areas when arriving first on scene.
