The March 2026 quarter represents the first full quarter operating entirely under the Support at Home Program, without any of the old Home Care Package data influencing the results.
A closer examination of the financial data reveals several concerning trends for Support at Home providers. Among the most significant is a decline in revenue per client per day, which has contributed to increasing pressure on provider financial performance.
With the commencement of the Support at Home program on 1 November 2025, providers will continue to set their own service prices, as they did under the Home Care Packages (HCP) Program. However, providers must ensure prices are reasonable, transparent, and clearly communicated to participants. In addition, the introduction of increased co-contributions appears to have affected the uptake of services that clients had traditionally accessed.
While there are numerous key performance indicators (KPIs) that can be monitored and measured, a select group of key financial drivers are particularly critical to the success and sustainability of a Support at Home business.
In this presentation we will explore:
Current financial performance and Support at Home program first Quarter highlights
Key drivers of performance
What is being heard from clients at StewartBrown
Government guidance on pricing and what is “Reasonable Price”
Co-contributions: provider operating risk
Key learnings and pain points
Next steps and how to keep in front of the game
