The March 2026 quarter represents the first full quarter operating entirely under the Support at Home Program, without any of the old Home Care Package data influencing the results.

A closer examination of the financial data reveals several concerning trends for Support at Home providers. Among the most significant is a decline in revenue per client per day, which has contributed to increasing pressure on provider financial performance.

With the commencement of the Support at Home program on 1 November 2025, providers will continue to set their own service prices, as they did under the Home Care Packages (HCP) Program. However, providers must ensure prices are reasonable, transparent, and clearly communicated to participants. In addition, the introduction of increased co-contributions appears to have affected the uptake of services that clients had traditionally accessed.

While there are numerous key performance indicators (KPIs) that can be monitored and measured, a select group of key financial drivers are particularly critical to the success and sustainability of a Support at Home business.

About the Presenter:

David Sinclair, Partner with StewartBrown specialises in providing services and advice to the aged care, disability and community services businesses. David has over 40 years of experience in professional practice with a background in audit (internal and external), insolvency and a wide range of consulting assignments to a variety of industries.

David is also past chairman and continuing Director of an aged care provider.

David holds a Bachelor of Economics, is a Chartered Accountant, an Associate Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors and Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Notification of cancellation or transfer of registration must be by email to enquiry@acia.asn.au.
