First to Serve and Sacrifice by Dr Daryl Moran, Grammarian

The 1881 Bequest Society invites you to celebrate the launch of First to Serve and Sacrifice by distinguished Grammarian Dr Daryl Moran (1966 - 1970; Staff 1981 - 1993).

This book tells, for the first time, the story of Caulfield and Malvern Grammarians who served in the Anglo-Boer War (1899 - 1902), the first alumni to serve and die in conflict. It features their school lives, wartime experiences in their own words, and biographies of all 28 veterans, alongside over 40 photographs. The research also identifies three previously unrecognised names for inclusion on the CGS Honour Roll.

Signed copies will be available for $25, with proceeds supporting the Caulfield Grammar School Foundation.
