Join us for a special panel discussion exploring the life of Fisher Library over the past six decades. This session will touch upon the history, architecture, early technology and life of the Fisher Library before and after the opening in 1963. We welcome audience contributions to our conversation and are looking forward to sharing stories during question time. 

Moderator: 

  • Professor Emerita Margaret Harris, Challis Professor of English Literature Emerita and Friends of the Library committee member

Panel: 

  • Dr Yulia Ulyannikova, Academic Liaison Librarian, who has been researching the history associated with the current Fisher Library
  • Dr Sebastian Boell, academic in the Sydney Business School, who specialises in the history of information technology and has researched the early adoption of technology in Fisher Library
  • Matt Devine, registered architect, who has been researching E H Farmer, the NSW Government Architect who oversaw the building of Fisher Library
  • Katie Blake, Librarian who worked at the Fisher Library service desk in the early 1970s

Seats for this seminar are limited, so we advise booking early to avoid disappointment.
