Fishers Kids Yomise 夜店
Event description
Get whisked away to another world this Fishers Kids Yomise 夜店
Saturday 4 November, 5 - 9pm
Campbelltown Arts Centre
Fishers Kids 2023 is a family friendly celebration of traditional and contemporary Japanese culture and the spectacular Japanese Artists living and working in Australia. Inspired by the Japanese Yomise 夜店 ‘night market’, for the first time ever this event will be held exclusively within Campbelltown Arts Centre’s beautiful Japanese Gardens and will run during the golden hours, from late afternoon into the evening. Showcasing a dynamic selection of workshops, stalls, installations and performances alongside a special Japanese inspired menu from the Arts Centre Café this Fishers Kids is set to be our best one yet!
We’re ready to take you on a journey… entering through the Japanese garden gate you will be whisked away into another world full of wonder and creativity. The opening ceremony will begin with a flurry of excitement as the rhythmic bang of Wadaiko Rindo’s 大綱 Taikō live drumming reverberates through the gardens. You look across the water and see centre stage Oune Fujima’s enchanting 日本舞踊 Nihon Buyo fan dance of the butterfly. The adventure continues with workshops and creative happenings weaving throughout the garden.
As dusk is about to settle, Yomise kicks up notch with a J-Pop concert from CITRUS PLUS followed by an after dark garden transformation, lantern pathway installations, temporary tattoos from Ben Dacich, shadow storytelling in the Tea House by Kyoko Imazu and the summoning of a colossal Kaiju surprise! #bestdayever
Tickets for the Fishers kids Yomise are $10 per person with every 4th family member free as part of the BIG family pass. Limited tickets available. BOOK NOW
