Have your say about Tourism in the Flinders Ranges & Outback

The South Australian Tourism Commission in partnership with RDA Far North and the Flinders Ranges & Outback Tourism Marketing Committee (as the Regional Tourism Organisation) are developing a Destination Management Plan (DMP) for our region. This plan will align with the refreshed South Australian Tourism Plan 2030, released in June 2025.

Our DMP will help guide tourism priorities and aspirations for the Flinders Ranges & Outback, aiming to create positive outcomes that support our local people, communities and places to thrive. It will inform tourism activity in the region, ensuring time and resources are focused where they can make the greatest impact. It will also serve as a valuable tool to advocate for investment in our regional priorities.

As a valued member of the FRO regional tourism community, you are invited to contribute your perspective by attending one of the two upcoming Industry & Community Engagement Workshops (Port Augusta & Leigh Creek).

These in-person workshops are an opportunity to shape the future of tourism in our region. Tourism already plays an important role here — and together, we’ll explore how it can continue to grow its positive impact across community, economy and environment in ways that reflect our shared aspirations.

No prior reading or specialist knowledge is required — all ideas and perspectives are welcome!
