Our speakers for the evening are:

Peter Hwang (Co-Founder & Head of AI at Sevaka) - Peter is a Co-Founder and the Head of AI at Sevaka, where he builds innovative AI-powered solutions for the KiwiSaver and superannuation industry. He started his tech career as a Data Scientist before transitioning into Machine Learning Engineering, gaining hands-on experience across the full spectrum from a three-person micro-startup to corporations with 800+ employees. He is deeply passionate about the intersection of AI, FinTech, and startup strategy

Steph Randell (Senior AI and Data Product Manager at One NZ) - Steph is Senior AI and Data Product Manager at One NZ, where she leads delivery of AI and data products that turn insight into reliable, customer-facing solutions - from discovery and data strategy through to responsible, scalable production

Shanon Jackson (Principal Engineer at Atlassian) - Shanon is a Principal Engineer at Atlassian working on Jira, with deep experience across both corporate and startup environments. He was previously a Principal Engineer at Parrot Analytics, held engineering leadership roles at Spark, and has also founded a startup

Our experienced panel will discuss the benefits and tradeoffs of working in startups vs corporate environments, covering topics like:

• Myths and assumptions - Is it true you get more responsibility in startups? Do corporate environments always give you more structure?

• Which personalities and skillsets thrive in each environment

• What to look for in a workplace to get the most our of your career
