Floor Talk: Gracia Haby & Louise Jennison with Pippa Milne
Join artists and curator on the gallery floor
Gracia Haby and Louise Jennison’s work, newly commissioned for this exhibition, is dedicated to the velvet ants of Australia. A series of suspended folding screens compose a digital collage rooted in the artists’ long-standing practice with natural-history research, paper, print and collage.
Join the artists for a floor talk lead by curator Pippa Milne, discussing how their work integrates rare book natural history illustrations and science, while also reflecting on their ongoing engagement with nature and biodiversity.

This floor talk is part of a new Potter After Hours experience. After Hours is a new monthly event series inviting you to experience the gallery differently. As the doors stay open late, performances, conversations and creative encounters unfold across the spaces, offering new ways to connect with the ideas, artists and communities around the Potter.
Please see below for more After Hours programming:
The Untying knots in the sky performance returns to the gallery for the second iteration of our After Hours series. This time however, Archie Barry and Aarti Jadu turn two stethoscopes into instruments, amplifying their heart rates as live accompaniment to their singing voices. This cyclic duet approaches the kind of synchronicity which cannot be forced, only felt. The result is something rarely witnessed: a negotiation between two bodies listening their way toward one another.
Artists
Gracia Haby and Louise Jennison
Gracia Haby & Louise Jennison have been collaborating since 1999, making artists’ books, zines, collages, stories, prints, and drawings. Besotted still, it appears, with paper for its adaptable, foldable, cut-able, concealable, revealing nature, using an armoury of play, the poetic and familiar too, with the intention of luring you into our A(rtists’ books) to Z(ines). As artists and wildlife carers, their practice frequently concerns the natural world, addressing themes of conservation and biodiversity.
