Floral Bird Delight — Samchykivka Art Workshop (1.5 hours)

Afternoon Art Session

A gentle, colourful folk art experience — guided step by step with artist Anna Mykhalchuk.

What is Samchykivka?

Samchykivka is a Ukrainian decorative folk art style known for rhythmic ornament, bold colour, and symbolic motifs. In this workshop, we use Samchykivka elements to create a bird-and-floral composition that feels joyful and meaningful — even if you’ve never painted before.

What you’ll create

A bright bird + floral folk artwork with your own colour choices and small personal meaning.
You’ll learn how to:

build a simple composition
paint stylised leaves and blossoms
add decorative details and contrast
bring the bird to life with pattern and colour

Who it’s for

Beginners and first-time painters
Anyone craving a creative reset
People who love folk art, colour, and pattern
Adults wanting a relaxed, social experience

What’s included

All materials (acrylic paints, brushes, palette, paper)
Step-by-step guidance
A finished artwork to take home
A calm, welcoming creative space

Meaning of the motifs

In Ukrainian folk tradition, birds often symbolise joy, freedom, love, and the soul’s song. Flowers represent growth, renewal, and warmth. You’re invited to choose a simple intention for your piece — something you’d like to bring into your season.
