Flourish: Ball | Hanlon | Schulz Album Launch

Eugene Ball (trumpet), Ben Hanlon (double bass) and Anthony Schulz (accordion) return to the stage to launch their sophomore album, Flourish. With Anthony now based in Canada, this is your only chance to catch them together for the foreseeable future.

Blending jazz, chamber music and folk traditions into something truly unique, expect a performance that's evocative and cinematic in places, meditative and plaintive in others, and genuinely challenging when it wants to be.

Flourish follows 2021's Land of If and features a spoken word collaboration with acclaimed Australian author Arnold Zable. Come hear an innovative, expansive body of work performed live by three musicians who've spent years learning how to surprise each other, and you.

The evening opens with Iranian-Australian qanun player and poet Vahideh Eisaei, a frequent collaborator with the band.

The night is hosted by our friends at Izakaya by Tamura, a venue as distinctive as the music itself, with Taka & Fumi crafting a select menu for the occasion.
