Flourish Women's Networking: Sydney Morning Edition (Elevate Series #2)
Description
Flourish Women's Networking- Elevate Series: Morning Edition
Theme: The Power of the Pause
Ace Hotel Sydney | 8:30-10:30am
Hosted by Emilya Colliver and Rebecca Kaye
Most busy women think rest is something you earn after everything else is done, or when you finally have time for a holiday or a girls' weekend away. This gathering challenges that idea entirely.
Join us for an intimate Flourish Elevate breakfast at Ace Hotel Sydney, a gathering of women leaders in small table circles of 6 to 8, exploring a theme that matters.
Speaker and facilitator Rebecca will lead an honest, practical conversation about why so many of us struggle with rest in the first place, often without even realising it. For many of us, resting was judged growing up, modelled as laziness rather than necessity, and that conditioning runs deep. Left unchecked, this is exactly how burnout creeps in, not as one big collapse, but as a slow erosion most of us don't notice until we're already there.
We'll look at what constant busyness is really costing us: staying wired and depleted affects the clarity and quality of the decisions we make every day, the opposite of what we're often trying to achieve by staying so busy.
We'll also draw a distinction many women haven't considered, the difference between rest that looks like rest (scrolling your phone, watching TV) and rest that actually restores you. Knowing the difference changes everything.
Real change doesn't come from a holiday three months away. It comes from small, deliberate pauses built into an ordinary day, sometimes only a minute or two. You'll leave with one simple technique you can use that same day, not someday.
Over breakfast, tea and genuine connection, we'll move into table conversations guided by a moderator using the Conscious Leadership Wisdom Deck, exploring:
Do you find it hard to switch off, even when you have the time to rest? Why do you think that is?
When you think about "resting," what does that look like for you, and is it truly restorative, or just a distraction?
What's one type of rest you know would genuinely restore you, but you rarely give yourself permission to do?
No pitch, no performance. Just a room full of women being real with each other.
This is Flourish at its best: intimate, nourishing, and real.
And if you're a serious coffee lover, head downstairs to Good Chemistry Cafe for a proper one before we begin.
