Flourishing Through Beauty: Opening Salon & Reception
Description
Join us on Thursday, Nov 5 from 4:30-6:30pm at Gallery 1261 for our Salon (4:30-5:15pm) featuring a presentation by Dr. Shirley Mueller about the neuroeconomic processes that take place in our brains when we acquire and collect objects, including art. You will learn about how and why the decision process brings both pain and pleasure and in the broader sense the explanation for what society often calls “retail therapy.”
The Salon will be followed immediately by Cocktails and Cuban fare at the Flourishing Through the Arts & Science Reception featuring the Flourishing Through Beauty National Exhibition, sponsored by Windows to the Divine and Gallery 1261. This unprecedented gathering of artists, art lovers, and healthcare professionals dedicated to human flourishing through the arts is the kick-off of the Flourishing Through Arts and Science Initiative 2026.
Set against the elegant backdrop of Gallery 1261, come celebrate the importance of beauty in achieving well-being as you view a special exhibition of the works of 33 artists of national and international renown.
Participating artists include Suchitra Bhosle, Kelly Birkenruth, Greg Block, Raj Chaudhuri, Robin Cole, Scott Conary, Tony Curanaj, Kim English, Scott Fraser, Greg Gandy, Ann Gargotto, Uli Gleiter (Germany), David Grossman, Stephanie Hartshorn, Ron Hicks, Quang Ho, Jane Hunt, MaryBeth Karaus, Andrea Kemp, Agnieszka Kotarska (Poland), Jeff Legg, Kyle Ma, Serge Marshennikov (Turkey), CW Mundy, Carla Paine, Jill Soukup, Daniel Sprick, Jen Starling, Adrienne Stein, Kazuya Ushioda (Japan), Vincent Xeus, Vladislav Yeliseyev, and Elizabeth Zanzinger.
