For the Love of Words would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands that we meet on, Gadigal Land of the Eora Nation.
We pay respect to Elders past present and emerging, and all First Nations people who are tuning in/reading on line.
We pay respect to the tradition of stories passed down through generation, ancient wisdom that taught interconnectedness of lands and living beings.
We are grateful to create and build with words in these lands.
Always was and Always will be Aboriginal Land.

FLoW For the Love of Words is a community based on sharing of stories, poetry and music by emerging and local artists that represents our rich diversity - PoC, women, gender diverse, neuro diverse, First Nations, faith expressions.
Set in the charming surrounds of book and art, FLoW is an intimate event of creative connection.
There are two seatings to choose from: 6:30-8:15pm and 8:30-10:15pm.
Your ticket will include delicious offering from the Parliament catering kitchen:
First seating (6:30-8:15) includes delicious soup/rice dish (GF, Vg).
Second seating (8:30-10:15) includes delicious dessert (Vg) made by Parliament on King.
We will hear from a line up of emerging and established artists:
Zeadala [Feature Artist of the Month]
Music is about moving people and connecting with audiences to create meaningful experiences.
So for Sydney artist Zeadala, it has never just been about putting on a good show. Her unique
performance style creates spaces for her audience to journey with her and to be transformed by
the journey too. This Sydney based artist has an interdisciplinary approach to her artistry and
often infuses elements of storytelling, theatre as well as spoken word poetry into her immersive
live shows.
Her poem- “Call Me by My Name” was published in Australian, Arab, Other: Stories on Race &
Identity following her duo performance with Mohammed Awad at Bankstown Poetry Slam’s
Grand Slam event in 2019. Later that year Zeadala performed at Groovin the Moo Festival in
Maitland where she supported DOBBY and released her Debut EP titled- Chapter 23 in October
of 2020 that was produced by Mark Munk Ross- a Hip Hop performer and producer known as
the Grandfather of Indigenous Hip Hop. More recently, she supported Urthboy- founding
member of Hip Hop group The Herd and co-founder and manager of Elefant Traks Record
Label, as part of his 2020 tour. During the 2021 lock down, she released her her second single
titled ‘HUMAN’. Zeadala is also the newest member of South West Syndicate- a Hip Hop
Collective that started performing in 1992 and will be releasing their album this year. She is
currently recording her second EP set to be released in 2023.
Ticket price goes toward Feature artist cover, running cost of the venue, development of FLoW community (website would be nice!!!!!) and the beautifully catered food by the refugee chefs at Parliament on King. Purchase first release tickets for Early Bird rates! Concession rate applies for students and those undergoing financial difficulties.
