Event description

Join Axel for a transformative two-hour Slow Flow and Yoga Nidra experience.

Here, we will explore the five Tattva (elements) and the Tantric meditation practice of Tattva Shuddhi (elemental purification), incorporated into a Yoga Nidra to make it accessible to all.

The five elements, or Pancha Bhutas, are fundamental in Yoga and Ayurveda. They are:

  1. Earth (Prithvi): Represents stability, structure, and grounding.
  2. Water (Apas): Symbolizes fluidity, adaptability, and connection.
  3. Fire (Agni): Denotes transformation, energy, and metabolism.
  4. Air (Vayu): Associated with movement, breath, and lightness.
  5. Ether (Akasha): Represents space, expansiveness, and consciousness.

These elements are believed to be the universe's building blocks and are used to understand the human body and mind in Yoga practice. Each element is associated with different aspects of our physical, energetic/emotional and mental well-being.

In Tantra, purification represents the release of energy from matter so that energy can be united with consciousness. We have so much dormant potential energy trapped in the body because we view certain emotions as impure or unclean. Tantra asks us to look at our anger, rage, fear, jealousy, and passions and acknowledge their presence within us. Thus, we release their energetic potential, which can be used to reunite with consciousness and expand our awareness.

Purification and transformation of the subtle elements composing the body and mind occur through self-reflection, meditation, and using Yantra, Mantra, and Breath to bypass the mind's faculties. Tattva Shuddhi is a dynamic form of meditation and self-reflection. It is not a passive practice in which one concentrates on a single object for the duration.

The ambition is to bring whole-body balance by tuning the elements within us, which paves the way for deep meditation, insight, intuition, and a richer understanding of the Self.

Everything you need for the practice will be provided, but feel free to bring your mat and props (block, bolster) for additional comfort.

You will not want to miss this one!
