**The Queensland red carpet premiere of the feature documentary Fly from Everest!**

In 2022, Australian mountaineer Ken Hutt (63), set off to do something that's never been done before - to climb and then fly a solo paraglider from Mt Everest, all in the name of raising funds and awareness for Rotary's End Polio Now campaign.

QUT School of Creative Practice staff member Dr Joe Carter (Senior Lecturer in Film & TV) filmed and directed the documentary, researching and filming in some of Australia's best paragliding locations and for 3 months on location in the Nepalese Himalaya.

Fly from Everest is an epic story of adventure, sacrifice and daring - with an incredible ending no-one saw coming.

A Special Red Carpet Premiere with Q&A session after the screening

After the screening of the film, members of the Fly from Everest climbing team Ken Hutt and Marcus Loane will be joined on stage for a Q&A by Polio survivor Gary Newton and also the film's director, QUT's own Senior Lecturer in Film Dr Joe Carter.

This special red-carpet event includes complimentary nibbles and there is bar service before and after the screening. ALL proceeds from ticket sales and donations will go directly to Rotary's End Polio Now campaign. You will receive a Charitable Donation Tax-Deductible invoice after check-out. Also, 100% of the Humanitix booking fee proceeds from this site goes to the Humanitix children's charities.

8:30pm - 9pm Q&A on stage with climbing team and film director

Access to QUT Gardens Theatre

Public transport

QUT Gardens Point is very well serviced by public transport including arriving by ferry. We suggest using the Translink Journey Planner to plan your visit.

On foot

There is pedestrian access from the city centre via George Street, or from Southbank Parklands via the Goodwill Bridge. Both are a short walk to QUT Gardens Point campus.

By car

The closest Pay-on-exit public car park is underground under P Block on Gardens Point Rd, just bring your ticket to the theatre box office or bard and we can validate it to allow a special discounted parking rate. There are a number of designated Disability Parking bays exclusively reserved for visitors who hold a Disability Parking permit. A taxi drop off and short-term parking zone (5 minutes) is located outside Parliament House in George Street, and there is also a drop-off zone directly behind the theatre at 75 Gardens Point Rd.
