Join Friends of Bongin Bongin Bay for a special community conversation exploring what almost 25 years of Cabbage Tree Bay can teach us about community-led marine conservation — and how those lessons can help shape the future of Bongin Bongin Bay.

Almost 25 years ago, local community members came together with decision-makers, scientists, businesses and not-for-profits around a shared belief that Cabbage Tree Bay was something worth protecting.

Today, its story provides a powerful local example of what can be achieved when a community cares deeply about its coastal environment and works collectively towards its protection.

So, what can we learn from their journey — and how can those lessons help shape the future of Bongin Bongin Bay?

Our Panel

FoBBB President Greg Pride will lead a panel conversation bringing together four unique perspectives spanning the past, present and future of marine conservation:

Together, we’ll explore what worked, what has been learnt and how those lessons can help inform the next chapter for Bongin Bongin Bay.

Everyone is welcome to attend this free community event. Registration is essential.
