People with Disability Australia (PWDA) and Inclusive Rainbow Voices (IRV) are hosting a series of focus group sessions to learn about your healthcare experiences as an LGBTIQA+ person with disability.

By sharing your experiences, you will help us develop new health guidelines for LGBTIQA+ people with disability. These guidelines will support healthcare services and providers to be more affirming and inclusive for LGBTIQA+ people with disability, and to make healthcare safer, more welcoming, and accessible for our community. We want to learn about your experiences, both positive and challenging, when accessing or trying to access healthcare as a LGBTIQA+ person with disability.

Each session will run online for 90 minutes with up to 8 participants. You will receive a voucher for your participation.

This opportunity is open to all LGBTIQA+ people with disability living in Australia.

About the Project:

These focus groups are part of a 10-month project at PWDA, funded by nib foundation.

The project aims to improve healthcare access and outcomes for LGBTQIA+ people with disability through the co-design, development, pilot and publication of national best practice guidelines that support inclusive, safe and affirming care.

The guidelines aim to:

· Make healthcare safer

· Improve access

· Reduce discrimination

· Support real inclusion

This project addresses critical health equity issues for LGBTIQA+SB people with disability, who face compounded barriers to accessing safe and comprehensive healthcare.

Accessibility

These sessions will be held on Zoom. We will have open captions for all sessions. You are welcome to participate with your camera on or off, and you can contribute by speaking or writing using the chat function. You can also email us afterwards with additional thoughts.
