Developing the COP28 SA Youth Submission
Event description
Are you passionate about climate change and its impacts? Commissioner for Children and Young People Helen Connolly wants to hear from you!
This year in the lead up to COP 28, we are looking at developing a submission from SA young people to send with the Australian delegates to Dubai in November.
If you want to be part of the development of the submission, please join us for a face to face workshop at U City Adelaide on Wednesday, October 18, 4.30-6.30
Guest speakers include Ian Overton, Green Industries CEO, Conservation SA campaign coordinator Charlotte Nitschke and local COP28 Youth Advisory Group member Bodhi Wait.
As the generation of young people whose future will be most impacted by climate change, you've said you want:
- more action on climate change
- more involvement in community awareness raising about climate change actions and issues
- normalising youth involvement in climate decision making
- more visibility and inclusion in decision-making at school, in your community, and with government.
This workshop is a practical action that you can take to influence the global agenda.
All young South Australians aged 20 years or under are welcome - no prior experience is needed, and we encourage young people from all backgrounds and experiences to join us.
Doors open at 4pm. Refreshments provided.
Register today and invite your mates to do so too.
We look forward to seeing you there!
