FOGO Community Information Session and Workshop

Inner West Council is hosting a free FOGO community information and champion workshop. This two-part event will provide an overview of the new FOGO service, explore the challenges and opportunities faced by residents and Council, and explain how Inner Westies can influence its success.

The community information session - introductory
(1pm - 1:30pm)

This session is for residents who want to know more about the FOGO service. It will cover:

- why the service was introduced
- what we have achieved so far
- see how your scraps are turned into compost
- meet the farmers using FOGO to grow food

Attending the information session will give residents an understanding of how the FOGO service operates and why it's important to a sustainable waste service.

FOGO Community Champions workshop - beginner to expert
(1:30pm - 3:30pm)

If you’re convinced about the importance of FOGO to the future of our community, stick around for the next workshop. It will discuss:

- how the service has changed waste and recycling at home
- how to best use the FOGO service
- challenges of introducing or using the FOGO service
- ways to manage these challenges
- how to engage your household, neighbourhood or community with FOGO
- actions you can take for meaningful change (tailored to your available time)

This workshop is for residents who want to be involved with the sustainability of their household, neighbourhood and community. It will address the positives and the negatives of household food recycling, with a strong focus on supporting Champions to help their community.

The community information session and workshop will be developed by Meiklejohn Consulting in partnership with Council. Meiklejohn will direct the workshop facilitation and follow-up support.
