Event description
Come and join us for a full weekend of paper folding fun and learning in person, with special guest Professor Jun Mitani, who is based in Japan.
Jun Mitani is a professor of Information and Systems at the University of Tsukuba. He received his Ph.D. in engineering from the University of Tokyo in 2004. His research interests centre on computer graphics, in particular geometric modelling techniques and their application to origami design. The origami artworks created by him are very unique and elegant, featuring three-dimensional geometric shapes with smooth curved surfaces.Â
The program includes:
- Origami workshops on a variety of models of different style from simple to complexÂ
- Lectures from origami designers and experienced folders on techniques, software demonstration and other hints and tips
- Models exhibition
- Rare book and original model auction
- Games and prizes
