Folding Australia Convention 2024
Event description
G'day Origamists in Melbourne, Australia, and Beyond!
Are you a budding origamist? A seasoned paper-folder? A maestro manipulator of the paper-based arts? Well, look no further because Folding Australia 2024 is heading to Melbourne!
We have a whole weekend of paper-folding fun. In fact, we have more paper than you can shake a bone folder at (this statement has been cleared by Melbourne Origami Group's Legal Counsel)! So come down to Swinburne University of Technology on July 20-21 to meet fellow origamists, learn, and maybe take home another model or two to brag about!
We are also excited to introduce our special guest, Tomoko Fuse.
Tomoko Fuse is an internationally renowned origami artist and a prolific author with over 60 books to her name. She is most famous for her work on modular origami, with many of her works decorating art galleries and inspiring budding origamists around the world. Yet her interests do not end there. Fuse has also designed masks, polyhedra, tessellations, and numerous geometric forms. We are very excited to hear from such a distinguished voice in the origami field.
Additionally, our programme includes:
- Origami workshops on a variety of models of different styles, from simple to complex
- Lectures from origami designers and experienced folders on techniques, software demonstration and other hints and tips
- Models exhibition
- Rare book and original model auction
- Games and prizes
More info coming soon!
We look forward to seeing you there!
