Food On The Table Storytelling

You are invited to the Richmond Free Library at 4:00 on Saturday, April 4th, to help support The Richmond Food Shelf and Thrift Store. Join Master Storyteller, Woodsman and Author Bill Torrey as he weaves together true, hilarious, heartwarming stories. The NPR Moth Mainstage Performer and Five-Time Moth StorySlam Winner will take you on a jaunt through the real Vermont. Come listen to a sixth-generation native recount stories of loyal friends and tolerated family. Mean teachers and crazy cows. Tall trees and devoted dogs. All proceeds will benefit the Richmond Food Shelf and Thrift Store.

Suggested donation for this event is $10 to $20. Donations can be made here when reserving your ticket. Cash or check donations will be accepted at the door.

“Bill Torrey is a storyteller too pure to be real and too funny to be believed. Great storytellers and great stories don’t always find each other. With Bill Torrey it’s a head-on collision.”

-Tom Bodett, author, humorist, woodworker, and radio guy

Bill notes that some of his stories are rated SBL – School Bus Language—as in, if your kid rides the school bus, they’ve heard worse!

In these uncertain times when food insecurity is increasing, even in the bountiful state of Vermont, it can be difficult to know how to make a difference. Bill Torrey will use his storytelling skills to entertain listeners while supporting the clients of the Richmond Food Shelf and Thrift Store. His stories of growing up in rural Vermont in the 60's and his 40 year career working in the woods will feed your soul while your donation will fill the shelves that will feed your neighbors.
